Facilities/ Scheduling
Classes are offered during a class period in a computer lab at the high school. A lab/classroom facilitator monitors student progress and discusses possible improvement strategies for students who are not on track to be successful in the course. NWACC provides training for facilitators.
Student Support
Students taking courses online through Early College Experience are required to participate in an orientation and receive instructions on the use of Blackboard, including information on online interaction, note-taking, and time management strategies. Early College Experience collects student performance reports from faculty and shares information with school counselors for the purpose of early interventions for students not on track to be successful
Testing
Students take proctored exams for the online courses. If the high school is unable to provide proctors, they need to contact the Early College Experience office to schedule someone to proctor exams for their online students.
Cost
Student pay reduced tuition based on the district where they live. There is a $45 distance learning fee per course, and students are responsible for purchasing required textbooks.
