How long is the program?
We offer several program depending on the goals of the students. They range from the 19 credit hour level certificates, which could be completed in two semesters, to a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree.
What are the program costs?
The tuition rate is the same as any other NWACC class. Textbook costs will vary depending on which classes are taken. There are fees associated with the lab classes that are nominal. Financial aid is available to those that qualify.
How do I get started?
If you are a new student, you need to Apply to NWACC. Once you have applied, taken the COMPASS or provided ACT scores (if applicable), and met with an advisor, you may begin registering for available classes. Our office is available if you need advising help.
What classes should I take first?
A degree plan is listed on the website. Students new to the program should plan to take Introduction to Hospitality and Safety and Sanitation during your first semester.
Where are the Culinary and Hospitality classes located?
All culinary arts and hospitality classes are located in the Center for Nonprofits at 1200 W. Walnut in Rogers, Arkansas.
What can I do when I complete my degree or certificate?
The Hospitality career world is full of exciting opportunities for school graduates. While many wish to go the entrepreneurial route and open their own business, graduates also find successful career paths with established restaurants and hotels. The knowledge that you gain here is also a stepping stone to other hospitality related careers in fields such as food science, marketing, sales and public relations.
What kind of salary can I expect?
That is a great question. The answer will vary depending on a lot of factors. Where you work, the type of position, years of experience, timing and luck to name a few. The most important factor is what effort you will put into it. In this career, you will definitely have the opportunity to be paid for what you are worth. People in this area can make a wide range of salaries from the bare minimum to six figures. It all depends on you.
