Career Pathways

As a parenting college student, participating in NWACC's Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) may be a great resource! CPI supports parenting students in pursuing a college degree or job training and securing employment offering services such as academic and career guidance and potential payment for tuition, fuel, childcare, textbooks and school supplies. CPI can partner with you to reach your academic and career goal.

Benefits & Eligibility

CPI participants have access to the following:

  • Academic and career guidance
  • Computer lab for homework and free printing
  • Potential payment assistance with expenses associated with childcare, transportation, tuition, books and other direct educational expenses. Assistance decisions are made on a case-by-case basis after the interview process is complete.

Eligibility requirements for the CPI program include:

  • Arkansas resident
  • US citizen or legal resident eligible to work in the US
  • Parent of a child under the age of 21
  • Meet income qualifications
  • Cannot already have a bachelor’s degree

 

How to Apply

Complete and submit the pre-application below. If you prefer a paper copy, visit the Career Pathways Office in the Student Center, room 204 A-F.

Note: Career Pathways receives many applications each semester. Your patience is appreciated while applications are reviewed as time allows. If you would like to check on your application status or learn more about the program, stop by the Career Pathways Office. 

*Preference given to the following type of student:

  • Have a 2.0 or higher GPA
  • Currently registered for NWACC classes
  • Enrolled in a high wage high demand AAS degree or short-term training/certification program.
