Workshop Descriptions:

Library Anywhere
Learn how to access library services in person or remotely—book a study room, submit an interlibrary loan, or ask a research question. Learn about Open WorldCat and its app, and how to check other libraries nearby, as well as get checkout privileges at other libraries. Plus, learn about saving searches within the databases to rerun in the future.

Open Textbooks
The high cost of textbooks could be flagged as one of the problems of unaffordable higher education, so one alternative route is Open Textbooks. This workshop will focus on subjects where one can find and use these textbooks.

Library Website 101
Learn how to best utilize everything made available to you through the new library website. Learn about study guides, databases, study rooms, multimedia equipment and get an in-depth overview of what services the library offers through both the website and in-person interaction.

Google and Google Scholar
Explore the world's most popular search engine, including tools and tips to streamline your research process.

Citation Made Easier
Learn how free reference management programs like Zotero and Mendeley, web-based services like EasyBib, and even tools already built into Microsoft Word can streamline the process of building proper citations in MLA, APA, ASA, and Chicago styles.

More Academic Skills Workshops
For additional opportunities for academic support, be sure to also check out the Writing Center's Basic Writing Skills  workshops, the Student Reading Center's Reading Strategies Workshops, and the Academic Success Workshops from the Academic Success Center (ASC).
