NWACC is the only educational institution authorized to provide Retail Link Training to students. You do not need a current Retail Link I.D. to enroll in the Certified Retail Analyst Program.
NWACC Corporate Learning offers a Certified Retail Analyst Program, which after completing the 4 required pre-requisites and 3 semesters of core classes, prepares you for an entry level, retail sales analyst position in the NWA Supplier Community. Internships and job placement are not a guarantee upon graduation.

Summer 2013 Program Classes begin May 13, 2013. Registrations will be accepted effective April 1, 2013. Register early to ensure you get in your classes!

SHELF MANAGEMENT AND INTACTIX SPACE PLANNING” (aka “ProSpace”)
Shelf Management and Intactix and Space Planning (better known as “ProSpace”) classes will be offered in the Fall 2013 semester. Registrations for the fall classes will be accepted after July 8, 2013. There will be an “Introduction to Shelf Management and Intactix Space Planning,” which will meet one night each week for 8 weeks. We will then offer the “Advanced Shelf Management and Intactix Space Planning Class” one night a week for 5 weeks. The cost for the “Introduction to Shelf Management and Intactix Space Planning” class is $650 and the cost for the “Advanced Shelf Management and Intactix Space Planning” class is $600.
Shelf Management and Intactix Space Planning Pre-requisites:
- Bachelor’s Degree or completion of the NWACC Certified Retail Analyst program is highly recommended.
- Basic Knowledge of how to use Microsoft Excel 2007.
- Basic Retail knowledge or experience required.
- Must take Introduction to Shelf Management/Intactix Shelf Planning class in order to take the advanced class.

ProSpace applications assist retailers and suppliers in helping to determine the correct assortment of products needed for the planograms, provides the capabilities to increase assortment and shelf space opportunities, helps manage inventories and supply targets and reduce out of stocks, just to name a few things that will be covered in these classes. ProSpace is a tool that is widely used at Walmart and among the suppliers.
CATEGORY MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Are you interested in learning about Category Management? NWACC will offer the first class in the Category Management certificate program, "Principles of Category management 101" in the fall 2013 semester. This program will present students with a better opportunity to interview for jobs as a category analyst with the necessary understanding of what a category management analyst role may entail.
The 15 week “Principles of Category Management 101” will provide an overview of the Category Management process and components that impact the process and be provided with insight into Walmart’s philosophy of Category Management. Key topics include the basics of Category Management and the Category Management Decision Process; top level view of the category, customer and competition; how category management principles are integrated at the retail shelf; concepts and applications of Retail Math; category roles; customer’s needs and how customers are involved in product placement; understanding competition and how competition impacts product assortment and placement; Walmart’s philosophy of category management. Students will learn from various industry experts in Category Management.
Class schedule and registration will be available on July 8, 2013.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Highly recommend experience with Consumer Product Goods/Retail (without this experience, the terminology and concepts will be difficult to understand and comprehend)
