Who May Enroll?
All adults over the age of 18 are welcome to attend classes if they are legal residents of Arkansas and are not attending grades K-12 in a public or private school. High School Equivalency (GED®) classes are open to anyone over 18 who has not completed high school or obtained a GED®. In special circumstances, a 16- or 17-year-old may be allowed to enroll in the GED® program.
What is the Cost?
There is NO COST for classes offered by NWACC Adult Education. All adult education classes are tuition-free.
When are Classes Offered?
Adult education services are offered year-round, with both daytime and evening classes during the academic year. Students may enroll at any time, study at their own pace, and complete the course when they reach their personal goals. Instructors work with each student individually in a relaxed atmosphere. Computer-assisted instruction is also available at various times.
Adult Basic Education (ABE)
For the adult learner who wishes to brush up on reading, writing or math skills.
Adult Secondary Education (ASE) and High School Equivalency (GED®)
Adult learners will be prepared, through class work and practice tests, to take the GED® exam in order to receive their Arkansas High School Diploma.
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Test Prep
ASVAB classes are for adults who will be taking the ASVAB test administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command. ASVAB is used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Services.
English as a Second Language (ESL) and Civics
ESL classes are for adults whose native language is not English and who wish to learn the language and customs of this country. Civics classes are for adults who wish to acquire the skills and knowledge to become US citizens.
Where are Classes Held?
Most classes are held at the NWACC Adult Education Center, located at Shewmaker Center for Workforce Technologies, 1000 S. E. Eagle Way Shewmaker Center, Bentonville, AR. Depending on demand, classes may be offered at other sites in Benton County, including Bella Vista, Gravette and Siloam Springs, and in various businesses and industries.

Just call 986-6911 or come by the Adult Education Center at Shewmaker Center for Workforce Technologies, 1000 S. E. Eagle Way Shewmaker Center, Bentonville, AR. There is a general registration period before classes begin, but with a convenient "open enrollment" policy, students may register for classes at any time.
