Due to the aging population and the expanding health and dental care job market, there is a national and local shortage of providers. Health science professionals are in high demand and NWACC graduates experience a range of job opportunities.

Programs
Physical Therapist Assistant
Assist in treating patients recovering from injuries and illnesses through therapeutic interventions as a physical therapist assistant.
Respiratory Therapist
Become a respiratory therapist and work alongside physicians to provide life-saving
health care for those with heart and lung diseases.
Nursing
Become a nurse and provide hands-on care to patients by administering medications, observing and monitoring patients' conditions and much more.
CNA & PCA+
Gain skills in providing basic care to patients, administering medicine, and more by becoming a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or patient care assistant (PCA).
Health Information Management
Organize and manage health information data by ensuring its quality, accessibility and security as a health information technician.
Dental Assistant
Become an integral part of the dental health care team and deliver oral health care and provide post-operative care as a dental assistant.
Fire Science
Fight fires, respond to medical emergencies, and assist in angle rescues in a dangerous,
yet rewarding career in fire science.
CPR
Learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by using chest compressions, rescue breathing and other skills.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Save lives by enrolling in an EMS program and learning how to perform emergency medical patient care quickly and safely.
Transfer Programs
NWACC has transfer agreements with North Arkansas College (Northark) and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) for radiology, medical laboratory technician and sonography programs. Each agreement produces transfer guides that list degree requirements for NWACC and the intended transfer institution.
Students will take the prerequisite courses at NWACC and then apply for acceptance into the desired program at Northark or UAMS. View the transfer programs below to learn more.
Radiology
Pursue an education in radiology and perform imaging examinations on patients using
X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging and computed technology.
Medical Laboratory Technician
Become a medical laboratory technician and collect patient blood samples, perform
tests and provide critical data to physicians.
Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Specialize in sonography and become an imaging health care professional who uses ultrasound waves, detectors and displays to produce diagnostic images.
Technology
NWACC's health profession students learn using state-of-the-art technology such as the CAE Learning Space camera system integration and the Anatomage Table.
