Honors Admission Requirements


The Honors Program values accessibility and offers multiple pathways for students to join.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in an Honors class and meet ONE of the following criteria:

  • NWACC GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • High school GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Minimum ACT score of 25 (or equivalent test score)
  • One NWACC instructor recommendation
  • Membership in a high school or college honors program/society
  • Completion of two Honors courses at NWACC with a grade or an "A"

 

Graduation and Transcript Recognition:

There are three paths to graduate as part of the Honors Program:

  • Honors Program Graduate with Distinction
    • Complete 12 credit hours of Honors courses with a "B" or higher.
  • Honors Program Graduate
    • Complete 9 credit hours of Honors courses with a "B" or higher.
  • Honors Program Participant
    • Complete 6 credit hours of Honors courses with a "B" or higher.

Honors students also complete a Reflection.

Ready to take your college experience to the next level? The Honors Program accepts applications throughout the fall and spring semesters. Once submitted, you’ll hear back via email within two weeks from the Honors Program Committee.

Note: Applications are not accepted during a student's final semester at NWACC.

Heads up: The Honors Program is designed for students who plan to graduate from NWACC. Please apply only if that aligns with your goals.
