Honors Admission Requirements


Read further to learn what's required to join the Honors Program at NWACC and remain in the program. 

Honors Program Admission Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an honors class AND
  • Meet ONE of the following requirements:
    • NWACC GPA of 3.2 or higher
    • High school GPA of 3.2 or higher
    • Minimum ACT score of 25 (or test score equivalent)
    • Two NWACC instructor recommendations
    • Membership in a high school OR college honors program/society
    • Completion of at least two Honors courses at NWACC with a grade of an "A"

 

Graduation and Transcript Recognition:

Honors students are also required to complete a Reflection.

  • Honors Program Graduate with Distinction
    • Complete 12 credit hours of Honors courses with a "B" or higher.
  • Honors Program Graduate
    • Complete 9 credit hours of Honors courses with a "B" or higher.
  • Honors Program Participant
    • Complete 6 credit hours of Honors courses with a "B" or higher.

Applications for admission into the Honors Program are accepted throughout the fall and spring semesters. Admission decisions are made by the Honors Program Committee and they'll notify you via email within three weeks of receipt of your application. Please Note: Applications will not be considered in the final semester of a student’s degree program.

Attention: The Honors Program is geared towards students who are planning to graduate from NWACC. Please apply if that is your intention.
