The NorthWest Arkansas Community College Foundation's annual 24-hour fundraising campaign will start at noon on Tuesday, December 3, with the goal of supporting five college projects.

College officials say their goal is to raise $25,000 to distribute $5,000 to five campus projects:

-       Veteran Student Success Center

-       Theatre Program

-       Food Pantry

-       Child Advocacy Studies Program

-       The Dale Montgomery Counseling & Wellness Center

The 24-hour fundraising operation, “Giving Day,” is a way for community members to support students, staff, and faculty.

“Every dollar donated goes directly to the designated project and will be used to purchase supplies, licensing, technology, and much more,” said Emily Brummett, NWACC Foundation advancement associate. “When the project leads submit their proposals for Giving Day, they tell us what they need in their departments and how they plan to use the raised funds. This ensures that our students and NWACC community can access better learning environments and necessities outside the classroom.”

About two months before “Giving Day,” NWACC Foundation officials send out a proposal submission form to the college community, asking them to select projects from their departments/programs to submit.

The proposals then are chosen and finalized by the Foundation and college leaders.

“The selected projects reflect the nurturing and supportive campus that is NorthWest Arkansas Community College,” said Elizabeth Anderson, NWACC’s executive director of advancement. “Our community is close-knit, and faculty and staff approach their work with great pride in caring for students. And these projects do just that.”

During the 24-hour event, the community will see QR codes, t-shirts, and stickers all over campus in support of the drive.

The fundraiser will officially close on Wednesday, December 4 at noon.

Everyone is encouraged to donate to any project they like by visiting nwaccfoundation.org or texting NWACCGives to 71777.
