Integrated Design

Integrated design is a creative and holistic approach to the use of design to problem solve and tackle real-world challenges. By pursuing an education in integrated design at NWACC, you'll learn how to design, create and innovate through artistic creativity, design-thinking principles, construction methods, and business practices, and in turn, make change in your work, your community or even the world.

The college’s Integrated Design Lab offers a physical makerspace that puts design into practice. Throughout the lab, you’ll find student and community programming that encourages innovation, collaboration and the testing of creative entrepreneurial ideas by utilizing the skills learned in areas of fine arts, design, construction and business.

Explore the integrated design site to learn more about discovering your creative potential.

Use the Integrated Design Lab

As part of NWACC's efforts to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Northwest Arkansas, the college has opened design spaces in the IDL to community members. The lab gives local artists, entrepreneurs, craftsmen, tinkerers and makers access to top-quality equipment and exceptional design and fabrication spaces.

How to use the IDL:

  • Submit a project proposal form detailing equipment, space and material needs and project timeline.
  • Complete general safety and specialized equipment training where needed before project work begins.
