Unplanned Pregnancy & Sexual Health
In 2015, the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 943 which directs colleges and universities to develop an action plan to address the prevention of unplanned pregnancies. NWACC supports these efforts, and a list of pregnancy prevention resources is available below.
Pregnancy Prevention Resources
- Arkansas Campaign to Prevent Unplanned Pregnancy -This non-profit organization provides information on resources that are available
to students including local health centers’ contact information and birth control

- Single Parent Scholarship Fund -The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund provides support to single parents who are pursuing their education.
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIS)
The American Sexual Health Association has reported that young adults between the age of 15 and 24 contribute to almost half of new STI reports each year. Prevention and early detection is key to help prevent further transmission and to lower susceptibility to contracting HIV.
