NWACC Community Members Receive Awards at ACC Conference

On Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 15, NorthWest Arkansas Community College faculty, staff, and student members were honored  at the Arkansas Community College (ACC) Conference.

The Arkansas Community College (ACC) is a non-profit organization representing all public community and technical colleges in Arkansas.

Each year, college members of the ACC nominate a faculty, staff and student for the Academic All-Star Honorees, Outstanding Community College Faculty Honorees, Outstanding Community College Staff Honorees and Outstanding Community College Alumni Honorees.

"We are extremely proud to see our community members recognized and honored at such a prestigious conference," said Dr. Dennis C. Rittle, NWACC’s president. "They showcase excellence through their work and dedication to our community, and we are grateful that they are a part of our college family."

The following student, staff and faculty members from NWACC were awarded at the ACC Conference:

  • 2024 Academic All-Star Honorees: Angelina Smith
  • 2024 Outstanding Community College Faculty Honoree: Professor LaShall Bates
  • 2024 Outstanding Community College Staff Honoree: Shawna Thorup
  • 2024 Outstanding Community College Alumni Honoree: Karen Reynolds

Sharon Fox, NWACC's Dean of Communications and Arts, and Judd Harbin, NWACC’s Dean of Students, were recognized at the ACC Leadership Graduation.
